So where are all the photos of aliens and UFOs?
I mean, aliens and UFOs — along with various predators, vampires, zombies and mutants with super powers — pretty much dominate our entertainment world.
I find it interesting that there seems to be two types of aliens: Those that look a lot like humans — except they have big eyes or green scaly skin or longer fingers — and those that look nothing like humans, i.e., big amorphous life forms without discernible hands.
But — somehow — these laughable life forms are able to build and fly the most unimaginably sophisticated spacecrafts — their UFOs — that humans couldn’t possibly replicate.
We humans have been living with the concept of aliens and UFOs only since the late 1940s, when pilots and Regular Joes started reporting seeing unidentified flying objects in the sky.
That soon brought about a crapload of “space invader” movies, perhaps most notably “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”
That was a great flick, even though the so-called alien was just a very-human-looking Michael Rennie (though impossibly skinny) in a shiny jump suit.
But it brought us no closer to any actual alien/UFO encounter in the real world.
Oh yes, we’ve all seen the fuzzy, mostly-out-of-focus pictures of what suspiciously looks like pie plates or hubcaps supposedly hovering over mostly rural areas.
But back up for a moment: WHY are aliens and UFOs apparently only a modern-day phenomenon? Where are the accounts of ancient kings and Romans and Egyptians describing these things?
I know there are the cave drawings and Egyptian hieroglyphic symbols that alien-and-UFO hard-core believers usually trot out that purport to show an alien encounter.
But there are darn few of these, and all can be dismissed as probably mis-reading the "evidence."
However — around the mid-20th century — we humans began to have the ability to verify these encounters with undeniable, real-time, state-of-the-art recording equipment. And with thousands of daily airplane flights going on simultaneously all over the world with millions of passengers staring out their windows -- yet not seeing any unexplainable UFOs.
And here’s the real kicker: Virtually everyone in those planes and everywhere on the planet is now carrying around a camera in their smartphone — with amazing HD resolution!
And we love to be constantly taking photos, don’t we? We’re always on the lookout for something “cool” to photograph, right?
So where are all the alien/UFO photos? If they’re up there, shouldn’t we be getting some really great, crystal-clear images of them skedaddling across the horizon?
And what about the new James Webb Telescope that is so powerful it can see backwards through Time — virtually to the Edge of the Universe (if there is such a thing)?
So far — nothing.
Gosh, I would love to have an alien encounter. To actually meet another species that mastered the ability to cross Infinite Space to come visit our little backward planet -- that would be amazing!
Guess I’ll just keep checking the news each day to see if it’s happened.
Meanwhile, I’m keeping aliens and UFOs in the same file as Big Foot and the Loch Ness Monster.
